20 -30 minutse or so, depenidng on the quantity and the temperature you set it to.

it also depends on how old the crock pot is. from my experience it takes about 1 & 1/2 hours to heat it up to idea temp. if you put it on high for an hour then turn down the temp, you should be okay. also, if you add water to thin it out a bit try adding hot water it helps. p.s.
longer for older crock pots

If it's a No. 10 can like restaurants get, then I'd give it 4 hours on low, stirring every half hour or so. High would scorch it.
