The new signs that detect and post your speed and flash if you're speeding; do they collect the number of cars, speeders, non-speeders, time of day, etc?? Take pics?

I would think this would be very worthwhile info.

Many of them CAN, but how many police departments are going to give the effort to harvest that data?? ( or can with the limited resources many of them are under...).

Yes, that would be valuable info - not necassarily for just giving tickets, but just doing a study.

No, they just have supposedly more "accurate" read outs on them, and they might record the MPH to see if people slow down, but they don't collect information on YOUR car, just the speed it was going...

Yes they collect data, if you don't see a camera then there probably isn't, most states with photo ticketing require signs advising of the camera.

Depends on the jurisdiction. Some do, some don't. Every city/state has different laws on the subject.

no they just warn you so you realize that you are speeding cause most people dont relize they are speeding until they do it so they are trying to lower speeding tickets by putting those out

some do all are linked to a cop who isnt too far away. they alert the cop every time some one is speeding excessively. never happened to me but i know someone who got a 250 dollar fine that way

I just want them to put out ones that have three digits instead of two so I can see how accurate my speedometer is.

no they just tell u that u might need to slow down or speed up...
