Money in dream often means there is need in your subconscious mind. Or you are feeling not enough in your daily life and so you project the money in dream to fulfill what you don't get in reality.

pennies and coins = small change, things in detail
counting = do not allow mistake to be made

In your case, counting coins shows subconsciously you may want to be very careful in things you do in life. Money may just be a symbol. The most important thing is the counting part. Some may say you are stingy; however, that may symbolize the personalities of a person. In other words, you may want to make sure everything you own will not be lost. And that leads to financial and other things as well.

In other words, you project counting coins is to tell you that there are things not enough or not in detail in reality and you are trying to make it up and perhaps there are some reason to stop you from doing so and you vent out in dream

It seems that the coins are an indication of the impact a decision will have on your future. I would say that an imminent change is coming with far reaching implications, as signified by the many coins. It may be that the decision you make leads to greater prosperity and success in life; so consider all your options until one is clearly the right one.

Money

If you dream of losing money you will find unhappiness in your home and future prospects will appear slim. If your dream is of finding money, you will have much happiness in your domestic affairs. If you dream of looking at money it shows that you will have an opportunity to reach your goals and increase your income. If you steal the money, your finances are in danger.

DREAM TYPOLOGY

There are basically two types of dreams and the singular criterion used in this typology is the interpretation ascribed to the dream. However, the interpretation is determined by a number of factors. A dream is good if the events and actions in the dream are interpreted as good. On the other hand, a dream is considered bad if the events and actions in the dream are interpreted as bad . Often, the episodes in a dream are determined or interpreted on the basis of the socio-cultural situation of the dreamer. For instance, a village farmer who has never seen an aircraft is not expected to readily dream of getting involved in an air crash while a boy living in the urban environment will hardly get involved in a rural situation. When either of this happens, the dream is considered so unusual that it deserves special consideration.

Some of the dream events common among the Yoruba are the following: eating, beings chased or pursued by masquerades or wild animals, counting money, being bitten by a snake or scorpion, swimming in a river, bathing in the bathroom or by the river bank, climbing a hill or a tree, falling from a high place like a tree or mountain top, working in a farm, walking through a farm, sexual intercourse, miscarriage, giving birth to a baby, getting sick, weeping, attending a joyous party, hunting or being hunted, flying in space, riding on a horse, sighting a snail, etc.

Money in dreams does not necessarily represent hard currency, but more the way in which we value ourselves. This symbol appearing in dreams would suggest that we need to assess that value more carefully, and equally to be aware of what we "pay" for our actions and desires. Also, money can represent our own personal resources--whether material or spiritual--and our potential for success. In some circumstances a dream of money can be linked with our view of our own power, and our sexuality.

According to Dreamcrowd:

The significance money has in your waking life is reflected in your dream state. Money is a symbol of power and wealth. We often judge ourselves based on our ability to make it, save it, and spend it. First consider your own relationship with money and your current financial situation as this dream could be simple wish-fulfillment. As always, consider all of the accompanying details in your dream because they will help you to understand where your issues lie. Traditional dream interpretations indicate that losing money in your dream is a good omen, and that probably the opposite will happen. Generally, money may represent those things that are most valuable to you and not necessarily cash.
