I think that is 1st Kings, because Solomon was the third king. But they spent so much time on Saul and David that Solomon may have been pushed into 2nd Kings.

I would look it up, but I'm feeling lazy at the moment.

1 KINGS 3:16 THRU 28

THE TWO WOMEN WERE HARLOTS WHO BOTH DELIVERED SONS.
IN THE NIGHT ONE ROLLED OVER ON HER SON AND KILLED IT. SHE EXCHANGED BABIES WHILE THE OTHER WOMAN SLEPT BUT WHEN THE WOMAN AWOKE AND FOUND THE DEAD BABY SHE KNEW IT WASN'T HERS.
THE ARGUMENT BETWEEN THE TWO WOMEN WERE BROUGHT BEFORE KING SOLOMON WHO WAS KNOW FOR HIS WISDOM.
HE SAID,BRING ME A SWORD AND I WILL DIVIDE THE CHILD IN TWO AND GIVE ONE HALF TO EACH MOTHER.

THE TRUE MOTHER SAID NAY MY LORD, GIVE THE CHILD TO THE OTHER BECAUSE SHE LOVED THIS BABY SO MUCH. DO NOT SLAY THIS BABY WAS HER REPLY.
THEN THE KING ANSWERED, GIVE HER THE LIVING CHILD FOR SHE IS THE MOTHER THEREOF.

ISN'T THIS A WONDERFUL STORY?

ALL ISRAEL HEARD OF THE JUDGMENT WHICH THE KING HAD JUDGED AND THEY FEARED THE KING. FOR THEY SAW THAT THE WISDOM OF GOD WAS WITH HIM TO DO JUDGMENT.

Look in the books that feature King Solomon ... he is the one who 'made the judgement' to 'cut the child in half' and give half to each 'mother' ... one said it was okay with her, the other said 'give the whole child to the other mother.' It was that who was the 'true' mother ... and so the 'case' was judged.
