My mommom came down from Delaware to stay with us for two weeks. (Mommom means grandma.) I love her to death, but all she does is clean and watch The Price is Right. (I swear to God that's all she does. Lol.) And when she cleans, I have no idea where she puts anything! Like I bought shampoo last night, and it is a special kind of shampoo. (The straighening kind.) I can't use the kind she got for all of us. (Suave) because it makes my hair so knotty I cry when I brush it. So I have to get Herbal Essence straightening kind, and now I can't find it! Yeah, I know I should have taken it upstairs last night to the bathroom where it belongs, but I was so tired I forgot about it. But now she doesn't even know where she put it. I know it is only two weeks, but come on people, I'm 13, and right now, two weeks seems forever. I can't just tell her to not touch my things and I can't just tell her to not clean, because she raised 8 kids and she just likes to clean. So what should I do?

Oh, and if you are going to say something like, "Grow up." or whatever, please don't answer. Because when she asks me to do something, I do it. I don't just sit there. I'm not like every other thirteen year old who hates there grandma.

We do find humor in her actions. Lol. It is actually quite funny. And she says what she wants to say, and trust me, she doesn't hold back. And I know shampoo is just something little, but I can't use old lady shampoo...

I do love her being here, and I have asked her where it is. As I said, she doesn't know either.

Grandmothers love one thing and one thing only, ATTENTION! They love to feel needed and I bet if you ask your Grandma where she put the shampoo she will actually get up and get it for you. Obviously don't do it during Price is Right as that is her time to relax after she has cleaned house and stuff. My suggestion is in order for her not to clean why don't you talk to her and ask her things or actually do something fun together, like teach her to play cards or a board game or dance with her or take pictures of her, the possibilities are endless.

I miss my Grandmother to bits and I think of her every day since her death but I will tell you this no matter how much she cleaned and took time out to watch the telenovelas, I always made time for her so she can relax, have a laugh and smile!

Wishing you the best sweetie!

Yeah I can see where that would drive you nuts. But, like the answerer above said you may just have to put up with it for the time being because Gram isn't going to be here forever. and when she is gone, you will have all these silly memories to sit back and laugh at. Maybe you can get your mom to get you another bottle of your shampoo, put it up this time LOL...just don't say anything to Gram about it. Or if she asks just tell her mom bought a new one, tell her that you have to have special shampoo because of your hair type. Tell her the truth...and remember too, that when you do find your missing shampoo, you'll have that one when you run out and you won't have to buy another one for a while...good luck!

your grandmother loves you, and i'm sure the shampoo will turn up eventually... i hope you find it soon, since you said it's what works best for you!

your grandmother wont' be around forever... i would say try to take it all lightly and find the humor in her actions ! giggle a little and don't take it all so seriously.

your grandmother also seems nice and kind-hearted... enjoy her while she's still around... that's my best answer.

sending hugs...

enjoy her. She won't be around forever. Just ask her where the shampoo is and love every minute of her being there.
