im not too sure what tolerant means here but I believe christians ought to be tolerant. but this does not mean compromising your faith and values.
God's word is a standard and cannot be bent to suit different situations. u shld be tolerant of people's views or opinions but your stand should be consistent with the Bible.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO DENOUNCE YOUR FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are many Christians out there who are not tolerant of other religions, but if you take the Bible and live according to the moral teachings, and take the Bible into your own interpretation, you need not reject your faith in Jesus!
I say, if you are having problems with regular Christianity, try Catholicism; it's actually more tolerant than you would think. But overall, choose the religion you believe in your heart to be true.

As a Christian you are to be Christ-like....Christ was tolerant.
Remember, Jesus stands at the door and knocks...one must accept him into their lives...Jesus will not just push through...he gives each person free will.
With that said...you should do the same...you can stand next to someone as a friend...offer your help, advice, love...but, it is up to them to accept it and ask you to come in and help them....if they are unwilling or do not agree with you....it is not your place to bash them over the head with the Bible.
Love everyone unconditionally...that is the way Christ loves...
Finally, look at John 8, Matthew 7, etc...we are not to judge others......
So, toleration is a good thing...you need not accept for yourself what someone else may or may not do...but, you should be tolerant enough to let them live their life.

You can be tolerant and still remain firm in your beliefs, but you must be careful not to compromise your faith just so you are more popular with others.

As a Christian there are some things you should be very intolerant of.. Mostly in your own life. When it comes to other people we should always be tolerant. We don't necessarily agree with what they do or say, but we can agree that they are made in the image of God and are worthy of our respect. :)

You can be a tolerant person. I thought Christianity was about opening your heart to every type of person and not judging them?

You can be tolerant. Being tolerant means that although you disagree with someone's views, you put up with and "tolerate" them. It doesn't mean those views are equally valid, it just means that you put up with them. Ppl have redefined tolerance to mean "all views are valid", but this is clearly false since Christianity in particular says that Christ is the only way, Jesus Himself says it, "no one sees the Father except through Me."

Chris·tian
ADJECTIVE:
1. Professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
2. Relating to or derived from Jesus or Jesus's teachings.
3. Manifesting the qualities or spirit of Jesus; Christlike.
4. Relating to or characteristic of Christianity or its adherents.
5. Showing a loving concern for others; humane.
NOUN:
1. One who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or follows the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
2. One who lives according to the teachings of Jesus.
********
Based on the definition above, if you *are* a Christian, you will by nature be tolerant.
If you find yourself quoting the OT and the letters of Paul more often than you follow the life lessons and teachings of Jesus, you're what I refer to as a selectively-observant pseudo-Jew or Paulist, so just cop to that and stop calling yourself a follwer of Jesus.

Jesus was tolerant. He even healed people of religions other than his own....without condemning them. He saved his condemnation for those who claimed his faith but failed at it.
Why doesn't your Christianity allow that!
Oh, that's right, Christianity isn't based on the Bible.
