I want to raise money for local charity has anyone got any ideas of what I should do?

have a bake sale, a white elphant auction, host a dance, some type of sporting thing like an all day sand volleyball compition, sell stuffl like schools do (wrapping paper, fruit, candies.)

As an ex Social Worker there are several way's of raising money for charity. Depending on what kind of charity organization it is if they are 503 tax excempt organization, you could write letters to philanthropical organizations.

Go to your local Red Cross. They should have a media library of non-profit for non-profit avaiable to you. Here you can locate all the companies that offer money and funds for chairty causes.

Another way is depending on how large of an amount you want to raise, get your church community involved. Something like a Rummage sale where all members bring items that they want to get ride of but are still in good use. (Our church does this as one year arround event.)

Another way is writing on a letter head from that charity organization to United Way. United Way is the greatest donor of charities.

Also nother idea if you are a very handy craft person, you couldmake a lot of bird houses, candle holders, things like that and than try to sel those.

colllect cans. have a bake sale. go around ask for money. call candy cummpanise most have fund raising packs for schools and church. you sell the candy and you get money for you charity and the candy corp take a small profit. make it fun conact other in your area that support you cause and have them help out

Well, car washes are the best. Selling plates are the second best because no one wants to cook. Another thing is to simply ask folk for donations. We still like to support a good cause.
