This guy really likes me and he's nice, but everytime I turn around he's like standing right behind me. And he's always staring at me. I want to tell him to stop, but I really, really, really don't want to hurt his feelings or make him mad at me. What do I say??

Call the cops and let them tell him. Then YOU wont hurt his feelings

I know you don't want to hurt his feelings, but he's going to be hurt if you reject him no matter how you go about it. Just be gentle and tell him that you're not interested, or say that you have a boyfriend. I hope you do have a boyfriend so he won't catch you lying. Good luck!

Oh yeah, don't be surprised if he gets upset because you rejected him. He shouldn't fly off the handle, but he will probably ask you questions about why you rejected him, or maybe complain, or maybe persist in approaching you for attention. As long as he doesn't act dangerous don't worry about it. He just wants to be wanted, and he probably doesn't know how to get to know people.

Ignoring him after you break the news to him will help also. Just ignore him (after you reject him) until he seems menacing and dangerous. He'll probably just give up though. I'm shocked at how paranoid some of these answers are . . . but I guess they are assuming the worst possible case.

If he's stalking you, hurting his feelings should not be your top concern. Tell him that him hovering around you is making you nervous and you need him to give you space, literally and figuratively. If you've already told him you just don't like him back the same way and he doesn't listen to you when you tell him to back of and give you space then you need to turn to an authority figure who can make sure he backs off. Good luck.

You turn around and say to him, "No matter what you have assumed till now, and no matter for what reason you assumed it, I have no romantic interest in you whatsoever. I am certain I never will. I expect that knowing this, you'll put your attention elsewhere, which I understand because that's what I intend to do."

This is the only appropriate response to a person like this. It's not "like stalking" he is stalking and if you continue to give him inappropriate gestures which signal to him that you are interested then he will continue to pursue you.

Simply put, that he is making you uncomfortable, and if he ever wants the chance or potential for something to happen between you two, that he needs to back away and give you space and behave like a regular human being.

If it gets worse and you are actually fearful, side step talking to him and speak with someone in a position of authority who can help you.

OMG I hate stalkers. OK you have a few options here: 1)Tell a teacher/parent or someone a boy is harassing you. 2)Be upfront with him. It may be hard but he needs to know you aren't comfortable with this. Maybe the next time he says hi to you (not in a class outside somewhere) you could say to him ; "Look, I know you're only saying hi, but I don't really like you following me around everywhere and asking me questions. It makes me feel really uncomfortable. I still want us to be friends, but I need time to myself sometimes. Please leave me alone." Gd Luck ! :)

If he's a nice guy, he shouldn't get hurt by you asking him politely to stop following you. If you're not interested in him... maybe you should just tell him because then he'll stop doing it anyway.

Don't beat around the bush. Just tell him what you want.

Stop staring at me, stop sneaking behind me, stay away from me.

Why are his feelings your concern if he makes you extremely uneasy.Tell him in a polite tone that he makes you uncomfortable. After that if he persists then a little raising of the voice would not hurt.

Tell him nicely that you need your personal space and he is sorta invading it. Say it with a smile and you'll be fine.
