This is not meant to mock anyone but PLEASE don't make a fool of yourself by simply quoting from the Bible. In this regard, that would make no sense.

And, please don't simply use the (acceptable but irrelevant) argument that the Bible is historically found to be true. According to many Christians Satan can imbue the world with misleading evidence in all regards.

I can understand the arguments relating to "Satan loses in the end" or "Satan is not revealed well in the Bible" but...

If Satan's ultimate goal is drive mankind away from the Truth perhaps a good way of going about it WOULD be to cast himself in a bad light. After all, doing so has no direct effect on him if the way of the Bible is not the way of God.

In other words, to accept the Bible as the Word of God may be playing directly into Satan's hands. How do you know this is not true?

I know that I am but a man but...

If *I* were trying to corrupt the souls of men it seems a reasonable way to go to make it look like I was the bad guy in order to achieve my ultimate goal of leading people from the path to truth. After all, my ultimate goal is not to get people to worship me but to steer them from the "right" path.

(I'm not Satan btw... to the best of my knowledge)

Or, to ask a similar question to that of Lord Elpus (page 2 of the answers):

Some of you claim Satan is "bad" but this is based on a morality that is fundamentally based on the Bible's teachings, no?

They only have faith and nothing else. I have brought this argument up many times before and most seem to think that god would not allow Satan to do such a thing.

It makes sense that God would be good by nature and that Satan would be evil by nature, correct? So we test the spirits...

God is evident in the lives of most devoted Christians, if they really take their faith seriously, because they genuinely care about other people. They're the ones who dig wells in Africa and bring toys to kids who have none on Christmas. They're the ones who dropped everything and hopped on a plane to help hurricane victims overseas...even though many of the victims had chanted death threats to them only a short time before on 9/11. Christians aren't the only ones who do these things, but they make up a large enough part of the effort that you can see a clear connection.

On the other hand, people whose lives are largely influenced by Satan tend to be more self-centered. They may treat their own family members well, but if someone cuts them off on the highway they'll be blowing curses at them for the next couple miles. They're the ones who laugh at and mock others, particularly the "weirdos", Jesus freaks, whichever political party they don't like, etc. They decide who they're accepting of and who they aren't, and they show little compassion for the "unaccepted" ones. Again, not all are like this, but there's a big enough difference between them and the Christians to see a connection.

Given this observation, I would say with all certainty that God is the God of the Bible, and Satan is the Satan of the Bible, and anyone who shows the love of God to others unconditionally has got the right idea. :)

Because: if you apply everything that the bible saids you can be happy, have peace in your life and so on.
If everyone that said I am a christian really did what the bible said, then you would see a difference in the world.
Let me give you some examples. as a true christian you must not do the following lie, steal, take avantage of other people, take arms against anyone, take revenge, fornicate, commit adultery, kill, be a greedy person, use the scriptures for business purposes and the list goes on
on the other hand you must do these things:
love your enemy, get along with everyone, help others if you have the means, don't judge, put God first in your life, live by what the bible said, treat other like you want them to treat you, respect everyone, follow geverment law, as long as they are not against God laws and the list goes on.

You see in the bible you find all this things, Satan is the opposite of thise things, he is the ruler of this world for the now, and that is why you see all these bad things.

If you believe in Satan, you should at least know something about him, right? Yes, he is a deceiver in the highest regard. Knowing that, if he had delivered the Bible to mankind, would it convict people of their sin? Would it say that mankind is innately prone to wickedness?

More likely, if Satan was the author and deliverer of the Book, it would tell us that what we do and how we live are just fine. That we are our own gods. We don't need any outside source for wisdom or salvation. We can attain anything we need from within ourselves. God and Satan are myths, it would suggest. The only reality is our reality.

There's a problem with that type of thinking. We don't know a vast number of things. We need God to enlighten us about the things we couldn't possibly discover ourselves. The Genesis of the world. His true nature. Ours. What will fulfill us in this life, and what won't.

Once we've wasted our life chasing empty things, it's too late to chase the meaningful ones. Our life HAS TO HAVE PURPOSE. God can show us what it is. He's the one who gave that purpose to us.

This is a very good question. The KKK uses this book to further their prejudices. Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church (who has been denounced by everybody) uses this book to further their prejudices.

It seems to me that a lot of people use this book for their own self worth. They will use it for their own agenda and not for God's agenda. They can use it to justify anything since the Bible contradicts itself.

I thought that the New Testament was supposed to replace the Old Testament, but when they're together, it's contradictory. Is it an eye for an eye or turn the other cheek? Is it Love thy neighbor and forgive men their trespasses or punish by stoning?

But there is some good that comes from it. People who truly follow the word try to make this a better world, by helping those who need help. Not by judging, but by caring.

It is written, not just in the bible, but other books as well, that Satan himself can not tell the truth. Satan is liar. Everything that comes out his mouth, hands, etc. is a lie. Being the bible is found to be historically true, weather you believe Christ to be the Son of God or not, Satan could not have put the bible into existence. Even athiests believe that Christ lived and died. It is know to be historically correct. Just as our lives will one day be notated that we were born, and then we died. Historically it is correct, but it is the "how we lived", (in this case, how Christ lived) that you may not believe.

Isn't Satan supposed to be evil? While there are some sticky spots in the Bible that have caused problems in society, the book was made with the intention of good morals.

And it was written by men, imperfect men who were writing for their time; it is not a fax from God, or Satan. It is INSPIRED by God, not written by Him.

Then the devil would be working against himself to get people to worship God.

It's contradictory to assert that because the focus is of God, not Satan. It condemns Satan and turns people from Satan to those who believe. To those who believe it turns people to God.

Thus, if Satan gave people the Bible, he would be working against himself.

This has nothing to do with history or even quoting from the Bible, but it's looking at it logically. It's like when Christ was accused for doing miracles with Satan's power. Christ says the same thing, that it would be defeating to Satan because Christ was bring people to a knowledge of God.

Good question. But I know that Satan thrives on chaos and anarchy, wants conflict between peoples, thrives on desperation and lawlessness. The Bible is a book that encourages none of that. So it would not make sense that Satan gave man the Bible.

Because the bible seems to have been written to refute Satan and the things he supposedly stands for. Normally a book, any book, promotes the feelings of it´s author or author´s as in the case of the bible. So one would have to wonder why Satan would promote exactly the opposite of what he´s suppose to stand for.

If you can´t find a good answer to that question then you have the answerer to your question....he didn't.

Presupposing that there is a God, Satan would have no motive to paint himself as the embodiment of evil who ultimately does not prevail against the forces of God. The Bible, after all, is a book describing the salvation of humanity. And according to the Bible, the savior of humanity is not Satan. It would therefore be self-defeating for Satan to distribute such a message.

Matthew 12 raises a similar issue:

"Then they brought to (Christ) a demoniac who was blind and mute. He cured the mute person so that he could speak and see. All the crowd was astounded, and said, "Could this perhaps be the Son of David?"
But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man drives out demons only by the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons."
He then said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and no town or house divided against itself will stand. And if Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself; how, then, will his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own people drive them out?"
