Accutane is a retinoid medication, related chemically to Vitamin A. It reduces the amount of oil that is released by the skin, and increases the rate at which skin renews.

* Accutane is used to treat severe cystic acne that refuses to responded to other forms of treatment, including antibiotics.

* You will be required to read and sign a form indicating that you understand the risks associated with Accutane.

How about pityriasis rosea? It generally starts with a "herald patch" somewhere on the trunk, then a rash on the back and trunk, less commonly on arms, neck and face. Lesions are scaly, pink, and most are less than a quarter inch in diameter. Itching is often mild, but can be intense. Rash may persist for several weeks.
