lust for power, greed, and no standard for right and wrong motivate people to genocide and murder. I don't think it's strictly an atheistic or religious tendency. those traits can come from either end of the spectrum of belief

No of course not. Religious people on the other hand do. After all in medevil Europe Christians used swords to convert people as well as burning people at the stake for not converting.

While I know of no specific instances, I'm certain that someone somewhere has used atheism as a justification for homicide. There have just been too many people in the world for this not to be the case.

I've never wanted to kill someone just because I don't believe in a god.
I have much more personal reasons for wanting them dead.
But!!! I DON'T kill anyone, because it's WRONG to kill other people.

I'm not sure, but the Athest I knew threatened to kill me all the time, so I distanced myself from her but she still talks about suicide and homicide like they are hobbies. I'm not sure if it's cause she's atherist or just effing crazy.
