Can Civilians work "for" the Navy, such as in administrative, etc???

yes they do, mom. Im going to find out just where you ccan work. I mean theres the bank, the commissary, the nex. a whole bunch of different places...including the navy college which has receptionist work. Il let you know

Yes, In fact alot of retired Military get out and get a civilian job working with the military. The pay is alot better and the hours are even better but they are still "with" the military.

And sometimes this is good for them cause that means they are still around a military post and have those benifits that they can still use.

SO yes check out that usajob site and see what happens.

Btw the Navy's age cap is 35 I believe and sometimes you can still get in past that in certain situations. Not only that but maybe the reserves as well?

There are plenty of civilian jobs on base. Either check USAjobs, or go to the website of your nearest base or instillation, they will usually have job openings posted.

Yes, all branches of the military have civilians who work for them!

Not sure Marge, I heard that they have civilian positions in the various branches, but you will have to call them and find out for sure. I am sure it is like any civil service position, only on a Federal level.

yeap. In fact, MANY administration and Food service positions formerly handled by sailors has been turned over tot he private sector.

How old are you? I heard they upped the enlistment age to 42 for the Army. There are goverment jobs you can try your hand at.
