I'm not sure on Joan of Arc. I do know that Christians murdered Hypatia and burned the library of Alexandria, and thus began the long decline into the Dark Ages and the halt of human advancement in the West for about 1,000 years.

Joan of Arc was captured by the Burgundies(sp?) who supported the English in the war against France. The English wanted to discredit the French heroine and charged her with heresy. She was burned at the stake.

It was all politics. LOL The church was VERY involved in politics back then. Perfect argument for separation of church and state.
