Not all people go to the same realm upon death. Some go higher, some go lower and some get stuck right in the middle.

Most people see heaven as a place where there are angels sitting on clouds and playing harps and big pearly gates.

It's the next step. The next place of learning and being given the chance the do things again until you get it right. No matter how long it takes.

I believe that we have all met before. All the wrong that has been done to us in this life we have given permission for that to happen so we know what it feels like. The permission was given so long ago that that you can't put it in to years but you could call it an eternity. Worldy ways and losing the innocence of infancy makes us forget that we gave that permission.

The place we all met could be called heaven but not the heaven as most know it or wish to know it.

You know that feeling that you get when you're walking down the street and a complete stranger has a face that something in the back of your mind tells you that you know that person? It's because you have met them before - an eternity ago.

Pangel, ALL roads DO lead to to a heavenly reward in SPITE of what SOME here are telling you.

John said: "How will you respond when Jesus asks you the question, "Why should I let you into my Kingdom?" What will your answer be? Is it that you believe that all paths lead to heaven? Is it that you are a good person? Is it that you deserve it because you are you? What will you say? Have you considered that you might be wrong in what you believe? Have you considered that all roads might not lead to the same place?"

Well John. IF Jesus DID meet me at the "gate" I'd tell him "My friend, I lived my life doing exactly what you did, or at least I tried my very best. I loved ALL who I met, tried to to the very best that I could to help them and ALL who were worse off than I was. I ALSO did my VERY best to take care for the world that I was placed on. I cleaned up my OWN messes and cleaned up the messes of others. I planted trees, flowers and other growing things and lovingly cared for those. I treated the sick and injured animals that I encountered. I treated the sick and injured PEOPLE that I could and had the abilities for in the BEST ways that I knew how. I may have worshipped in an unconventional way but MY worsip was completely from MY OWN heart and not from a book that no one coulkd absolutely confirm as being from a genuine source. I NEVER went into a building that was soley dedicated to worship. Instead I worshipped in the GREATEST Cathedral of ALL, the naturaL World that was created for precisely THAT purpose as well as to be a home for ALL else that was created. So now, if what's on the other side of that Gate is full of beings who have done as I have done then, THAT is where I truly belong. Whether it is Heaven or Hell is irrelevant to me, it IS where I belong and I will go there wilingly and happily. However if it is full of Beings who have done nothing but persecute me and people LIKE me, then that is where I do NOT belong and will choose the other. Brightest Blessings to you, my friend.". Now, John, THAT is exactly what I will say to whoever greets me at the "gate". If it's Jesus, FINE. If it's Goddess, ALSO fine. If it's Satan, again, fine. As long as I get to spend the rest of eternity with those who have lived the same as me, then no matter WHERE it is, I will consider it to be Heaven.

Brightest Blessings,
Raji the Green Witch

Well......Not quite Pangel! but your statement sounds so good. Jesus said a long time aga in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me. I know that it sounds Christian to tell everybody that it really doesn't matter what you believe. God will automatically reserve a place for you in heaven. This is not the case according to scripture. Sadly pangel, many will be lost because they did not receive Christ as their personal Savior. Read: Matthew 7:21-23.
Read :John 8:24, Matthew 25:26-30,46; 2Thessalonians 2:7-8 and Revelation 22:10-12. It is not God's desire that anyone should be lost(John 3:16, 2Peter 3:9) but that men would repent of their Sins and personally accept Christ as their Savior. The sad truth Pangel is that many will reject Christ openly after many have prayed and pleaded that men would receive Christ as their Savior and Lord. All roads do not lead to Heaven. Therefore people like you are on this site(R&S) pointing men and women to Jesus.

Romans 10:9

Have faith dear friends in God.

Wings and halos. Robes and harps. Sitting on clouds. Being greeted by St. Peter at the pearly gates: These are the images of heaven we get from movies, TV, and newspaper cartoons. Silly as they are, the ideas behind these images can seep into our consciousness and affect the way we think of heaven. Disembodied spirits are not extended in space. They don’t have shape or take up space. As a result, some have wondered whether heaven is a "place." Heaven is not a location in the physical universe. One could never travel far enough in any direction in space to arrive in heaven. For more, go to: http://www.catholic.com/thisrock/2005/0509bt.asp

The most important heaven is the one we can make here on earth in our everyday relationships with other people. We can practice love and kindness, patience and gratitude. We can help those who need help, offer solace to those who need comfort, smile and be sincere and kind to every person we meet.

If your spiritual path tells you there is such a place as heaven in the afterlife, then certainly doing everything you can to create little slices of it here on earth will help you accumulate the karma or grace or whatever you call it that will take you there when you leave.

Peace, love, and of course hugs for (((((PANGEL))))))

Now you'll have to defend a personal thought that you spent time thinking about, not parroting someone else's ideas.
I will use my prepared statement, I had lawyers write up, so I won't be abused by people that along with me do not know anything about our afterlife. 'I don't know - you could be right.'
No matter what we, humans, think - GOD has the final say as to our reward - many will be shocked.
As there is only 1 GOD - there will be 1 final reward, that we have earned.

Attacking Pangel is probably quickest black mark GOD gives to people, in the book of life. Think people. This is an opinion derived by study and thought. Not a drunken bar room conversation.

Hi Pangel,
I am a Christian and I do not believe that all paths lead to the same place because it is written that we are to follow the "one true GOD and FATHER of all". I do not agree with you but I also respect your decision to believe as you do. I would be glad to study with you at any time you decide to do so. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you,
Eds

As a heathen, I've always felt that "our" afterlife destinations were simply metaphors for how we live our lives---for the honorable and heroic, *this* life is Valhalla, filled with victory and struggle and feasting and the company of friends . . . for the nithling and the coward and the cheat, every day is Nastrond, being struck and bitten by their own conscience . . . and for most of the rest, Helheim of the straw dead, the humdrum of every day life, is the best they can hope for or do.

Of course, I haven't died yet either, so you may well be right! Who am I to say? :-)

I don't yet know what happens when we die, but I am clear that many archetypal images and references to "Heaven" are symbolic stories gesturing towards the worth and wonder of an enligthened participation in Something right there with us always and already.

I very much believe that is what Jesus of Nazareth saw and knew when he told his friends and students, "The Kingdom of Heaven is in your midst." I also know that for him and his Aramaic language "Kingdom" was a VERB form.

The active, living presence of That in and around and through us.

Heaven is 'that perfect moment' in your life. I remember a nice sunny day in my garden with my young children and partner. The cats were playing with a new kitten we had just bought. How comical they were, chasing after this cute little bundle as it ran through two slabs placed against the house wall. I remember looking around at the scene. The smiles of joy on my family's faces will stay with me forever.
