An unclassified alert distributed by the Transportation Security Administration to federal air marshals, airport screeners, and the cops has been made public -- and it's raising a few eyebrows. Air travel security types are advised to be on the lookout -- keep a sharp eye -- for terrorists practicing smuggling explosives aboard planes. The alert gave four examples of these dry runs:

•In San Diego, a checked bag held two ice packs covered with duct tape with clay inside, instead of the normal blue gel ice.

•In Milwaukee, a carry-on bag contained wire coil, an electric switch, batteries, [and] three tubes all wrapped around a block of cheese -- the consistency of some explosives.

•In Houston, a checked bag contained a plastic bag, 9-volt battery, wires, pipes, and a block of a clay-like substance.

•In Baltimore, a couple checked a bag containing a block of cheese in one plastic bag... taped to another plastic bag... with a cellular phone charger.

Non VIOLENT answers pls, let's be...

As far as I'm concerned these were real threats. I'm glad the public is now aware of the lengths people will go to to get explosives on a plane. Ice packs, clay, cell phones and cheese? All normal things you could find anywhere. These items were probably dropped off by people no one would suspect. And then people wonder why TSA checks childern and older people and takes away your toothpaste. THIS IS WHY!!! Stop complaining, take off your shoes, and follow the rules.

Now to answer your question, if I was the TSA officer on duty, I'd discreetly inform law enforcement of the situation and have the person arrested.

Probably one of the worst ideas that I have heard recently. They are past the point of joking around with this stuff. You would probably be charged with Making a terrorist threat. and you would end up doing jail time even if it was the time served while they disected your life and harrassed everyone that you have ever known. Good luck with this. You will really need it.
