WHO DOESN'T LIKE DONUTS!?

2007-07-26 04:09:47 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 6 1

As some of the others have stated, the donut shops were the only places open late at night and usually had good coffee. I got a laugh out of your question as I was a cop for 22 years and never really liked the donuts. After retiring, I became an over the road trucker and became hooked on donuts. Go figure.

Funny question.

I do not know how the stereotype started, but most of the police officer I know ( and I know a whole lot) do not even like donuts, let alone eat them. I prefer a Snickers bar if I want a snack like that.

There are a few officers who do not take care of their bodies, which leads to the stereotype that the typical police officer is fat; and the movies do not help either.

In order to be an even decent police officer, you have to be in some sort of good shape. Whether you work out on a regular basis, or eat right, or a combination of the two or more healthy things...an officer tries to stay in shape. I work out three times a week in our gym, and run five days a week. I try to eat healthy, but I am not as health-food conscious as some. I like to eat wings and drink a beer every now and then while shooting darts at our local pub.

Thanks for the question.

Who doesn't like donuts? Some people do, some people don't. I'm sure some officers eat them when a box ends up in the break room, but others are probably health nuts just like there are health nuts in every other profession...

Not at all. Donuts make it harder to chase you when you run from me.

Proud to say I have not had one donut or cup of coffee while on the job.

from what i am told, back in the day, donut shops were the only once open late for coffee and so cops would be there all the time and now it's become myth

I love food, and I always knew the best places to eat, and which places were open 24 hours. Just to ease your mind, I'm not out of shape, and never have been.

yes i used to manage a doughnut shop, the reason cops are linked to doughnuts is because at one time it was all that was open late at night. they do not sit and eat them nonstop though most will eat one or two and be done.
