It's spam. If you reply, you'll just get more of these e-mails and they'll probably tell you need to send them money (for some lame reason) before they can send you a check. Delete it and ignore anything similar that arrives in the future.
If this is an international (outside the US) lottery, it's illegal for you to be involved with it (this is per our local police department and the link below).

It is a scam. Do a bit of research for online lottery scams. There is way too much to explain here. Everybody I have talked to about this wonders who in the world would fall for these things. Yet this question gets asked several times each day.

It's an scam!!!
Don't ever reply. No need to report them. The authorities know it already. It's the gullible who are always being victimized. You can search the internet for the different scams.

The Email you have received is known as "Spam", i.e., unsolicited Email. This is just another one of those millions of scams and gimmicks to rob you of your money online. Just delete it immediately. To win a lottery, you need to buy a lottery ticket first.

it's a scam, phishing, they want your personal information. in your email program, use the preview plane so you can view emails without opening them. even though you are wondering what's going on, it's 100% scam! report it as spam then delete. if you reply they will know it's a valid email address and you will get more spam than you ever imagined...sometimes up to 100s a day, LITERALLY

don't sed them anything, just delete immediately. you can also try typing in their email address into google- there's a chance other people have gotten the same email from the same email address, and you'll know for sure that it's a scam.
