is "I Do" the longest "sentence" in the English language? LOL! And, if white is the color of Hope and black the color of gloom, why do the guys wear black? :)

I think the colors only apply to the bride, which is why many bridesmaids get away with wearing black as well. "I Do" is a short sentence but the effects last a life time (about 50% of the time).

Well I got married when I was 20 and my husband was 22, we just celebrated our 7yr wedding anniversary on July 1st. We have 2 gorgeous children, a son who is 3 and a daughter who is 1 and "I DO" mean everything that we have accomplished together to date! Good LUck!

Both very humorous statements. Just married two months ago so am still in the honeymoon stage of the relationship. Perhaps I might better give an honest answer in a couple more years. Ha! Thanks for the laugh though.

I never thought of "I do" as the long statement, but it does take a long time to think about. Especially for the person who is going to ask the question.

Black I had never thought of as gloom. I have always thought of it as respect. We wear it to funeral saying we love you, we will miss you, we have always appreciated your presents, and we are sorry for all the wrong we have done to you.

Men wear it at weddings saying they love, honor, respect, and will be their for their wives forever.
