Too many see animals as being emotionless - they view an animal as some sort of inanimate object just there to meet some sort of need or desire they have.. whether it's as their personal alarm to let them know when strangers come (AKA a "watchdog") or as a status symbol.

They fail to realize what dogs really are and can be with proper love and care and that's a loving, loyal companion that will never leave their side, never neglect them, always be whole-heartedly devoted to them, and always be there to lift their spirits after a long hard day. It's sad really.. all a dog usually wants is for his owner to be pleased with him. Even after being treated horribly and being left outside to dehydrate and die, a dog will often still treat his owner with love and respect. Why can't we give them the same treatment in return?

We should be their protectors and friends, so why do so many endanger them and treat them like an inconvenience.. after all, it's the owner who wanted the dog in the first place! Remember, when you get a dog, whether you buy it, adopt it from a shelter, or take it from a family member or friend, you are making a LIFE-LONG commitment to that precious pooch. And if you're not ready to take full responsibility for the dog's well-being, even if it means spending hundreds of dollars in vet bills (within reason of course), then please PLEASE don't get a dog. They need ample amounts of time, patience, money, and love.. and if you don't have all of those to give, you're not ready for a doggy companion.

Sorry Cassie.. lol.. sort of got on a rant there. I'm just like you, though. I hate seeing dogs abused and mistreated, ESP. when morons try their hands at back-yard breeding. Breeding takes a lot of skill and once again, MONEY. People think they'll make a quick buck by selling puppies... morons. They're only adding to the problem.

I think it would be. I feel that if your going to keep a dog then you should learn how to take care of it. That seems kinda obvious. If it's really hot outside then make sure it at least has a well shaded area to lay down and plenty of water.

We llactually it would be murder. But I don't now depends on the situation. If they just leave the dog outside with no shelter or water chained up then yeah i guess. But if the dog has a house and plenty of fresh water and isn't chained to a 3 foot radius then no it'snot.

That's sounds more than fair to me. Maybe this way, these irresponsible owners, that own these poor dogs, that are stuck in this situation, will realize, what it feels like to be neglected.
