I put my daughter in some tutoring classes. I asked my parents to pick her up and drop her since its during the day when I work.

My father basically gave me the third degree about how much they cost and asked all of the details.

I just wanted him to drop her off and pick her up which he had volunteered to do.

I felt like I was dealing with my ex-husband agan by the way that he gave me the third degree.

I think if I am paying for the tutoring, I should be involved with how much I am spending not my father. Its my child and I am responsible for her development.

remember your Fathers generation is a hole lot different than ours-instead of becoming defensive remember the cost of living is away higher than when he was putting you Thur school. You are bound to feel like he is giving you the 3rd degree considering the way your X talked to you. You are going to have to become more receptive to (starting) with your dad toward males. I think it was out of concern your father broached the money- forgive his shortcomings.Instead of becoming defensive- on a Friday niter quietly leave a bit of money for his gas so he can find it- maybe at his chair. More than likely he will say I know how expensive the school is- I don't want your money- it pretty much will close the cost and money issue once he see that you are trying to carry your weight. Its never easy when your living and dealing with parents and more difficult now that your daughter is once again with you.

It's possible that he doesn't see tutoring as a great use for money. Some people don't put that much value in education.

However he may also just be a concerned parent who wants to know that you're not getting taken by paying too much for the service.

Maybe his mother didn't care to do as much for him or her time was tied up elsewhere. Regardless, I would kindly let him know that if your child requires tutoring you WILL be making sure your child is getting the help they need.

This case you just ask again if he can pick her up. If not make other arrangements.

It is important to you and her. Keep her in the classes.
