Because they don't want to be the only ones to not believe, they don't want others to believe either, so they try to convince us that we are delusional. Which is fine, it only gives us more strength to endure. And in the end our endurance in our faith will be a vital link to other's Salvation. So really they are just helping us further persue our faith! Whoo-hoo!
I do have to agree that SOME of them have more knowledge about what Christianity should be than some people who CLAIM to be Christian, although they lack understanding of what it really means, at least they can say they have read the Bible. They planted their own seed w/o even realizing it...Now it's up to us to water it and allow God to make it grow! It's amazing! huh?
and they also have a right to be heard. Just like we Christians have the right to testify and be a witness, they have the right to "untestify" and be a "non-witness" Lol. (I'm not real sure what you'd call it.)

because a lot of the athiests on yahoo answers are smart arses.
then again, how come so many religious people post questions like, "hey athiests! what if you're wrong, huh??"
I think we all just need to give useful answers to actual questions. or shut up.

Many atheists have read the entire Bible. Most Christians have not. Atheists tend to be very educated about religions. Perhaps you noticed that ANYONE is welcome to answer ANY question here. If you only want answers from Christians, you should try asking your questions in a church or Christian forum. This isn't one.

Real atheists know the bible better than most Christians, and can explain religious thought much more rationally and satisfactory than believers can.

Probably because this is a section of Yahoo! Answers about Religion and Spirituality, and Atheism is a relevant philosophical position in that regard.

Why not? Just because we don't believe in it doesn't mean we're not knowledgeable of it. Heck, if half the world's Christians knew as much about it as a lot of us atheists do, they'd stop being Christians altogether.

Because I like it here. Religion (usually negatively) affects my life on a DAILY basis. I would be a real COWARD not to.
