Don`t you think that Derek does overdo it a little?
He does not come across as genuine and, his claim, "Spirits do not like the light," why not? They don`t have eyes to blind their sight, and when he says, rather forcefully and aggressively, "Come on, you coward! Show yourself!" So theatrical, as if a bodyless ghost can be physically frightened. And, if anything does happen, Yvette Fielding shits herself and comes out with the `f` word.

I do and I am total agreement with you. I think he is a jerk who doesn't even know what he is talking about. He is more wrong than he is right.
I also don't like the fact that they usually don't show something as it is really happening. Like on the Queen Mary. We got to see some water that appeared while they were all in the pool area and only one person reports seeing someone coming out of the pool. Excuse me though if I started to see something like that I would put the cameraman and camera into that area. I am in a Paranormal group and we do investigations and I bet we have more things we could actually show to anyone. We don't show a rock after it has been thrown. Not something I am interested in. And that woman Yvette is so not with it. She is scared of her own shadow. She spends way to much time asking "Did you hear that" or "What was that?" Well go and look to see what was that.
Did you see the show when she slapped her husband across the face with a good one? He is as unbelieveabe as Derek.
The only one I give any credence of truth to is David Wells. I don't know how he can stand being on a show with the funny characters that are on that show. I pretty much watch it to see David Wells and to have a good laugh about the rest. It is like when Derek suddenly yells out in that one show "Charley my boy" and then it took to much out of him to continue. I don't even remember if we learned who Charley is!? Oh my gosh, this question has me going now!! Thank-You very Much!! Anyways do you remember a show where Yvette screamed when someone blew in her ear?? Oh my gosh I laughed so hard about that. I would love to have them be on some investigations that our group has been on. Then she would have a reason to scream and it would be legitmate and you would see what she had to scream about. And, I am not joking with anyone about this or what we investigate.
Thank-You so much for this question!! I have wanted to ask the same thing you just did.

Derek Acorah was proved to be a liar that's why he no longer works with the most haunted team,Derron brown(illusionist) made him look an idiot by making up a story alongside an owner of a pub in a village where the team were to be filming.Derek retold the fake story making him look the total idiot he is....always thought his being overtaken lark was soooo over the top.

I think its all Hollywood. I have watched the celebrity one on VH1. If I watch anything with Ghost/Spirits I watch the History Channel or something like That.

It does make good telly watching though. There are people out there with such a gift of mediumship but when folks see it on the telly like that they all think that all mediums are the same.

DA not coming across as genuine - that's because he was proved (as I have always said) to be a faker - he got caught out by the team and was proved to be researching and faking - Ha ha ha! Career in ruins - do I care - NOPE

i don't think he meant that they don't like the light, i think he meant more to say that spirits find it much easier to materialise when it is darker. I think in the first couple of series of it, he was genuine but as fame got to him a bit more and more, he started getting a bit tempted to bend the truth and fake things. it spoiled him and i was quite disappointed but that's showbiz i suppose. xx

And yet, many people will buy this nonsense...

We, as a society, do way too much pushing of superstitions on the public. It's a shame.

He's definitely in it for the acting credits that for sure.
I've never heard of anyone getting "possessed" as much as he has,and when he says,"and they were MURDERED", he cracks me up.
I always did like a good comedy.
