.I notice a lot of people read the other answers first... I dont do that cause it would stop me from my natural reaction. Whenever i do read them i find my answers are just as lame, and two syllables....(No, tell someone who cares, DERR!....etc) Its more fun saying what you think then reading the other answers. If i had a dollar for everytime i said.....woops, i think i was a bit harsh..........
I answered a serious 'god' question once. In a stupid way. I was all ready for the outcry and violation notice, but you guessed it.. best answer.. i made him laugh...ha ha who needs a life when you have yaHOOOO?

I answer questions that interest me, regardless of the outcome. I have been surprised by some of the responses that I get to them. I've gotten best answer on some, and some not. It isn't about the points, it's about giving advice, helping out others, and just being involved (and yeah, sometimes it's just about ranting, being silly, or even letting someone know that they have crossed a boundary). If I happen to get kudos for an answer, whether from the asker or from voters, then hey, that's just gravy.

Oh yeah, all the time. Sometimes I'll answer with a real sincere, heartfelt, helpful answer that I think I'll get best answer. But, I don't. Sometimes I'll say something short & silly without a lot of thought behind it & get a best answer. Go figure.

I answer to answer, and I'm surpised if I get Best Answer. So, what I'm doing is-surprise!!_ just answering. No point in only doing this to win.

More often.
when answering the question one answers up to his knowledge, expecting that other participants will be answering up to their knowledge too.And if your answer's been chosen as the best one,of course that is another issue.
