It would help if you had a specific phrase as there are numerous slang terms, and they change over time.
In the 1980s, there was "Val Speak" (short for San Fernando Valley and thus the song "Valley Girl"), which popularized a number of sayings no longer in common use. "Gag me with a spoon" was one such saying, which I would use when I saw or heard something irritatingly sappy. I've shortened it to gag me, but I'm sure it dates me.
Many abbreviations have sprung up since the Internet became popular--nobody used LOL (laugh out loud) or TTFN (tata for now) until most people began using email and text messaging--there was no need for it.
The Urban Dictionary suggested by another user might help but even then, some words have multiple meanings, and the meaning may depend on where you are. Slang terms popular in one area may be unheard of or have a different meaning in another.

Watch a lot of movies, espcially those of teenagers. (polite but full of idioms! Interesting stories, too.) And, you may like to use
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:Idioms
and you may like to use Oxford Dictionary.
Use these, maybe those stuff are a knight in shining armor. Gosh, you may go to town with slang after using 'em. See ya.

Sup is what's going on. Gonna is going to. You can shorten words that have ing at to end to just in. For example, going would be goin. Lylas is short for love you like a sister. Ttyl is talk to you later. Brb is be right back. G2G is got to go. When you are writing down things you can shorten words like because could be bcuz. Easy stuff like that.
