I can tell my colleague likes me and I'm a shy person. He asked me what I was doing for the weekend, etc and before I'd even opened my mouth he said, "You're not going to go all shy on me now, are you?" I went bright red and went out of the office. He should like me for me including my shyness, shouldn't he?

Sounds to me like the guy is someone you should avoid. If he enjoys pushing his personality on you and making you blush, he may not be your cup of tea. Of course, you may enjoy a pushy person in your life, it's up to you but, I don't believe in that old saying..."Opposites attract." You sound like a sensitive person and to me he sounds like a jerk.

I think he was probably trying to be funny and lighten up the mood. I am sure that he realizes you are shy and is probably really attracted to that. If you like him, I say that you leave him a note on his desk saying: " I'm not busy this weekend...now what" See what happens. That way you don't have to talk to him but he will come to you with the proposal of a date or whatever he had in mind.

Sounds like he was trying to tease you a little bit and already likes you including your shyness (maybe especially your shyness!). Just keep chatting to him and stuff if you like him or maybe shock him by asking him what he's doing over the weekend.

Sounds like he was just asking in general, work relationships can be a disaster, but it is totally your decision to make. You never know what could happen.

Yes, he should. But, that's not the point. You are just colleagues and he was making small talk. That's all.

I think he was just asking you a general question about what you were doing over the weekend.
