I got my shot 2 days ago, my arm still hurts when I move it, and yesterday I was in a shoe store when I started to feel nauseated, and faint. I kind-of joked it off at first but by the time I had gotten to the register I couldn't breathe, so I sat down on the floor as I started to black out, I yawned and I couldn't hear anymore, everyone was muffled and I felt like I was going to be sick, I was burning up. My sister took me to the bathroom where I almost fell over and ended up having diarrhea. I thought I was going to die, what happened?

You are having a stronger immune reaction to the shot than usual, but still in normal limits believe it or not. It normally makes everyone feel feverish for a day or so, woggy on the legs and having a sore arm. You likely were running fever, and were slightly dehydrated, and not feeling your personal best. In the middle of a shop, surrounded by other people, it all just came down on you. It may be that you were not covered as well by previous jabs as you should have been, and your immune system reacted very strongly. The soreness and fatigue, and the fever, are about as bad as it gets, and should ease off within a few days after the shot is given. I'm sorry you had such a tough time there, but at least you know your immune system is working as advertized and you will be immune to diptheria, tentanus and whooping cough. Those are some really nasty diseases, and it's really worth it to be protected. If you have any other problems, or the fatigue persists, then it may be worth a stop in to see your doctor- but likely you will do fine.

It is quite normal to feel like sick. I have this experience so I am telling you. I also had got lots of immunization shots this month including tdap.Although I didn't feel nauseated or not able to breathe or diarrhea, I felt black out and felt weaker. But my arm hurt for 4 days believe it or not.I would suggest to ask the place where you got the shot about your problems if these problems continues for many days.

I had a reaction when I had the shot back in '86, but it was not as bad as yours. Now I am afraid to get another shot.
