How can I transfer it to my computer whose hard drive I guess I have to wipe. I really don't want to buy another activation code....I DO have the installation cd. WIll it make me register the software again, and if so, will it still work?

Because MS Office does not "phone home", it will allow you to reinstall it on the wiped computer. But you will need the original activation code when you reinstall it.

If you do not have the code, go to http://belarc.com and download their free Advisor program. It will scan your computer and give you a listing of all the hardware and software installed on the computer, including the activation code for each of the Microsoft products (Windows, Office, etc). Then you can reuse that code to reinstall Office.

You can use the same software + registration code again.
