I have a feeling most of the people who seem so arrogant here are probably not in real life. There is something about the anonymous nature of the internet that makes people seem like real a**es. Some of this may be because you can not detect tone of voice through an email or posting. I have met a couple of people from some birding forums that I participate in that I thought were complete and utter jerks who were incredibly nice. They just don't know how to write nice.

I don't see much arrogance coming from atheists, mainly they make their decision based upon facts and believers on a book of fiction that has had nothing whatsoever about it proven.I am getting fed up with being called stupid or that I am an idiot and worse because I will not blindly follow their rantings.Religion was fine when people were too ignorant to understand natural phenomena. We now know that the sun does not revolve around the Earth,a theory punishable by death a few hundred years ago.Faith,a death sentence to some sick children of Jehovah's Witnesses.I will use the lift or stairs when I want to go from top to bottom of a building. Those who have faith may jump out of the window.

Ok, I don't mean to be arrogant at all. We mostly tend to operate our lives on facts and evidence not faith. Would you jump off your roof because you have faith you can fly. No, you don't have faith because you have no evidence you can and lots that you would be injured. Would you not take you take your very ill child to the hospital because your neighbor had a divine revelation that God told them you shouldn't and just let God take care of it?
Life would be chaotic if we just went around on faith not based on anything in other areas of our lives outside religion. In most people's lives they require some evidence before they make any important decision. When it comes to religion I choose to not except it from the same requirement. Its fine with me if others believe so long as they don't require me to accept policies based on their faith in something without proof. Why accept divine revelations just because they are recorded in an old book if you find them ridiculous elsewhere? Believers keep saying there is ample proof and then fail to provide any a reasonable person would be able to accept as proof. Yes, I can't prove a supernatural deity doesn't exist so I remain open to objective evidence and proof should it arise. This doesn't seem arrogant to me, just rational and common sense. Again I don't mean to be arrogant, I think you or whoever can believe what you wish. I would just like people to consider it a bit more and not be so hasty to impose it on others through creationism, school prayer, limiting access to contraceptive, rejecting scientific research, sexism, judging others, etc...

You’re showing arrogance right now, by making a broad statement about a group of people, that you do not personally know. Thus, attempting to invalidate their faith and proof of G-d in their individual lives; solely based on your definition of faith and belief.

It's not about truth .. it's about having faith in what you believe is to be the truth. In reality what you believe can be absolute crap (and probably is) ... so long as you uphold the faith... well, that's the way it all seems to me... can't say I know for certain but that's my arrogant claim for tonight .. I'm on a quota.
Edit:
You remind me of someone I know. You haven't been to Jerusalem have you?

This site is full of arrogance but this category is worse than the other categories.
Religion is a very controversial subject to talk about. But if the people who don't believe in God attack God and our religion/s are we not supposed to fight for what be believe is right! Its not the case of "two wrongs don't make a right"!
If someone attacks my religion i defend it with my life. The atheists need to be a bit more respectful towards our opinion.
I believe in God and you can see how arrogant the people who don't believe in God are being. They are the arrogant ones i just stick up for what i believe!

Human beings are arrogant because they're blessed with the capability to reduce the size of the universe to whatever size is needed to allow the miniscule concerns of the individual brain, to utmost importance.

Shouldn't one stand up for what they believe in or do not believe in? Why should I give in to the false statements made about people like me who do not believe in a god?

there is so much arrogance here because there is so much arrogance everywhere and this site is open to everyone. An enlightened yogi, Yogananda said it clearly "ego-permeated humanity". He was very sensitive to energies and vibrations and wouldn't even go into a mainstream restaurant because he didn't want to subject himself to the toxic vibrations.

The Earth is billions of years old and in all that time not one single solitary piece of evidence has come to light to show the existence of a god.
That's close enough to proof for me.
