Ive just bought a refurbished Netgear WGT624 which doesnt come with an installation CD. How do i set the router without a CD. I am a computer dummy and im totally confused with the instructions. Please help.

You need to know which version it is. Turn the router upside down. There will be a label which says WGT624. This may be followed by v2 or v3.

There are apparently THREE versions of your router.
In any case here is the Netgear site for support with manuals and the downloads for any of the three.

This will allow you to get the full software for your unit or see the offical manual for your unit which tells you step by step setup information.
Most Netgear routers default ip is 192.168.0.1 a few older ones were 192.168.1.1. You can try these in your browsers address bar. The default user name is admin the default password is password or 1234.

Make sure the router is plugged into your computer, then open a web browser and go to the following address http://192.168.1.1 this will bring up a login box, if you don't have a user name and password from the person you got the router from try something like user name: Admin password: Admin. I don't remember the user name and password that comes as default but its something like Admin:Admin or root:admin, if someone else could refresh my memory we might be able to help.

You will need to download the drivers for the router before you can use it.
