My best friend is really attached to me - we've been best friends for years now, and I do love to spend time with her.
The problem is, she hardly has any other friends, and she never hangs out with them.
I'll spend the night at her house and then the next day after I leave she wants to go to a movie or something, like we haven't seen each other in weeks.
She calls me a lot to ask if I want to hang out, but I can't hang out with her every single day. We don't have cars, and my parents don't want to drive me around all the time.
Plus, I've got other really good friends who never see me that want to hang out... and my boyfriend, I want to see him too.
What can I do to tell her she needs to have other friends besides just me?

She's not really interested in hanging out with my other friends, either. She doesn't know them and doesn't want to get to know them.

If you are being truthful to yourself and towards your friend. Please be frank with her. Tell her that you do treasure her friendship and like spending time with her but you need to spend sometime with your other friends and boyfriend too. Or, you can actually asked her to join you and your other firned. For all you know, she may have the same feeling as you too and she also having the dilema how to tell you that she need to spend time with her other friend. Just be honest and Good Luck.

If you're really good friends, you should try and talk with her. She may think you're enjoying all the time you two spend together as much as she does. If you're complacent in the relationship, then you're not going to get anywhere. You know her, so you know the best way to approach her on the subject. Just remember that if she's clingy, she may have some other issues going on, so test the waters before you decide on the strategy you'll use to give her the hint that you need a little space.

Why not bringing her along when you hang out with your other really good friends? At least she can widen up her circle instead of having u alone as a friend.

Tell her u need some days off coz u need 2 spend time with ur bf as well.

well maybe she is the homely type and if you start pushing her to mix around you might give her the wrong impression that you are not interested in her and would like her to find another guy . So if you want her to mix around and have more frens just bring her out and start mixing with your own frens.

You need to tell her gently that you can't always be around and she needs to circulate. Invite her out with your other friends so she can get to know them and she can hang out with them when ur not around.
