In my view its a not a spiteful or hateful campaign at all against the McCanns!

Their are a few comments that even I would not say or accept! I have commented about the know facts about the disappearance of this little girl and on the attitude and statements made by the Madeleine's parents the McCanns with the media. The absence of any real and meaningful search for this little girl gives me great concern both for the lack of information and the parents backbone on the subject looking for their missing daughter Madeleine themselves?

Having read the express story seems to me that quoting on the Gerry McCann interviews on American television seems odd to me?? all what Gerry McCann has said is not allegedly nor is it based on factual evidence. In fact their is no evidence that the express journalism had checked Gerry McCann's quotes for example; that they were only 50 yards away from the apartment? (This is not a fact?) The question of the McCanns check on their children again is opened to question?

There was again no checks by Express Newspaper that they clarified any factual evidence that the authorities actually said this to the McCanns "McCann quote: after being Naive "but said the police had assured them they would not be prosecuted for child neglect".

Astonishing statement from a so called newspaper who claims to speak for its readers and in search for the truth!.

Let the truth be known!

I think it's a shameful backtrack by the Daily Express.

Since when has the right to an opinion turned into a hate campaign?

In fact, the only hate I've come across has been from a very few McCann supporters who can only get their point across in the vilest, foulest way. The majority of posters either supporting or critisising the McCanns are mature and sensible and don't resort to hate.

Yet again, we're being presented with a one sided biased view of this case, all in favour of the McCanns. Where is the investigative journalism that would accompany any other similar case. Where are all the interviews with the nanny (if she exists), patients, residents of PDL, residents of Rothley - we haven't even seen over the wall, never mind the Tapas Bar. The Express are now reporting that the party was only 50yds away - incredible. Why don't they get someone over there and measure it.

The British media should be utterley ashamed of themselves.

If people are threatening the McCanns physically I would call that hate but the fact that people out there would like to just see justice for a little girl who was neglected is not hate to me at all. These parents should be treated like any other parent who has neglected their children and there is obviously proof that they did. The biggest proof being their daughter is missing. Sure they are going through so much right now because their daughter is missing as some say but it is not a simple case of turning their back or letting go of her hand for a few minutes. As I have said over and over...the 2 moms a couple months ago that left their kids alone in Pitsburgh are going through the most devasting grief they could possible go through but they also are the ones that left their children alone to die in a fire. I don't consider it hate at all for people to want them to face up to what they have done in a legal fashion. Had she been found wandering about that night and brought back by police then something would have been done, had their been a fire and the children were injured or died as a result they would have been punished as well. It is not hate to want to set an example to all parents that you just cannot leave your toddlers alone like this.

Speaking personally, as one who wants Gerry McCann bought before the courts, one who keeps on posting questions on here, a despiser of Team McCann,
I'd just like to explain, in a nutshell why I feel so strongly.

Gerry McCann has made a huge mistake which may well have cost the life of his daughter.

By the very kindest assesment It was a gross error to leave three toddlers alone.
I dont think anybody, not even the pro McCann brigade dispute that.

What I find DESPICABLE is the fact that Gerry completely denies this.

If he would just admit the error, grave as it was, hold his hands up and Say "I messed up and now my daughter has gone"..then I would be rooting for him...

But no...he INSISTS, again and again that they did nothing wrong, with or without hindsight to leave the children unattended was wrong.

Thats why there are laws against it and I fervently hope that the Law acts and forcably shows him how wrong he is in his assesment of his parenting skills.

Just read it CT - and posted a reply too.

I don't HATE the McCann's - I don't LIKE what they did - there's a vast difference between the two. I've been very critical, yes. But I'll criticise until the cows come home but don't anybody ever tell me that criticism and hate are the same. Most of our mob have been vociferous with our protests against these two - but I've never seen the word HATE mentioned in any Q/A

Andrew T: I couldn't have said it any better myself - that's EXACTLY how I feel and it's why I get so angry - that and the complete lack of emotion from these two people.

Td_17_uk: Post the pic - you're not doing anything wrong, just showing everyone that the apartments are NOT fully visible from the tapas bar as has been stated umpteen times.

They honestly thought that the whole world would pat them on the back and say there, there? Not everyone is going to agree with three young children being left alone. If they aren't going to at least admit their mistake and apologize to the world for making us give them money and put up with all the drama then I have no respect anyway. Their mindset seems to be, find our daughter, give us money and don't berate us for the whole situation. As much as I agree with helping people I don't agree with doing everything for them without some form of punishment for their mistake. If I make a mistake at work will my company sort the whole thing out give me a bonus and not say anything negative to me? Hell no. This isn't the way life works and the McCanns have to accept that people will help but nothing in life is free.

Well its hardly supprising there is a hate campaign going i am not supprised at all!But i see this campaign as 'The public's thoughts on this case.After.all we are footing the bill to keep them over there!so i think everyone whether it be good or bad is entitled to say wot they think!!..
What on earth pocessed the parents of maddy to go out and leave the babys and the toddler in!What type of parents are these? It's not normal practice if your kiddies are asleep you stay in or put them in a pram and take them!!But you do not leave them in on their own they should be well ashamed of themselves!!!

Nevermind what the parents are going through they look pretty calm to thousands! What about that poor little girl if it weren't for her irresponsible parents she would be safe and sound with them now as we speak!
How on earth they haven't been questioned by police it is against the law to leave babies and a toddler in on their own is beyond me also the mcans say they have been told no action will go against them whats going on ere! They need social services involved it's just not normal to leave kiddies at an appartment on their own in their own home nevermind a strange country they are unfit parents in my eyes! They say they were only yards away soooooooooooo what they still left their children in on their own so someone obviously has been watching their routine!Did they do this on a regular basis? Must have!!Unless im going to say what others are thinking did they arrange for her to be took like i said earlier they are ohhh so calm about it!!!

And sum of you guys say oh cant believe what you's are saying about them get in the real world they are unfit to be parents!Bumming off us the ppl for their fk up!! and neglect get them in questioning!Something not totally tallying here!

Sorry but this is how i feel as a devoted mother to my 2 children!!!!

And? We live a free country, when free speech is an important right. The Parents involved the press from day one with a small cottage industry building up from the donations given to them by well wishers. Unfortunately like with most media stars, as soon as you get known in the media somebody will try and pull you down.

What do they expect? That everyone should feel sorry for them. Im sorry but I can't. I wouldn't say I hate them because I dont know them but I hate what they have done. I dont believe anything in the papers and its the one reason I don't buy them but I bet they didnt expect this to turn out like this. As I said before if they wanted the celebrity status so much why didnt they go for Big Brother.

What do they actually mean by 'nasty and offensive'? I have been called that on here for simply stating the fact that her parents need a few more parenting skills if they chose to leave their 3 children unattended.

Do you think the papers would care about such 'hate campaigns' if the McCanns were from a housing estate and lived off benefits? They would probably be leading it.
