You are probably referring to films where he doesn't play the dastardly villain. I like him in the following:
- Blow Dry (really quirky British comedy about hair stylists)
- Sense & Sensibility (sensitive Victorian romance)
- Love Actually (endearing performance, though as a part of an ensemble cast)
