I think she should.

What do you think?
It makes me feel ill to think that peodophiles are already discussing this little girl on their websites. I wouldn't put my children forward for modeling or pageants.

Miss Principle - I agree that it's become very sad that we cannot photograph our own children nowadays. My friends little boy had his first sports day last week and no one was allowed to take photographs at all!! That is a real shame.
However, knowing this child is blatently being discussed and god knows what else on the internet, dont you think her mum should stop the publicity that she is giving her little girl?

Jadealiesha - I think peodophiles and internet rings are the problem of anyone who has children or who has children in their care. We all know how wrong and how discusting peodophilier is, but to float along saying it's not our problem is madness!! We all have a duty to protect our children from harm and a duty not to expose our children to these people.

Afrowoman - I totally disagree that this child is no more at risk than any other. Hundreds, maybe thousands of scum are now discussing the most hidious of things about this little girl. They wouldn't even know she existed had she not have been catapulted into the public eye by her mother. I think she is massively more at risk that most other children.

Caesars Wife - Of course its a matter for this particular family to decide on. People have to make their own choices in life.
I think we can greatly limit the danger to our children as far as peodophiles are concerned without limiting the fun that they have.

Fairyb04 - I know, i think it's very sad. I'd be absolutely devastated if I knew my children were being discussed on a peodophile website.

Joya - I'm not disputing that children love going to these pageants. Having the knowledge of taking part in one, do you think that if you had a little girl and you knew that peodophiles were going to watch her and discuss her would you allow her to take part in one?

Lushloopylyns - From what I have read previously, I have yet to hear of a peodophile who's obsessions have blown over in a few weeks. Some spend years quietly obsessing about a particular child or scenario before they act on it.

I think all pageants of this nature should be banned. I agree that paedophiles should not affect children doing children things, i even agree with local carnival/rose/fairy queen contests for the local carnivals. But there is a huge difference between these contests and beauty pageants where mothers gladly make their daughters up to look far more mature than they should be. They parade them in adult clothing, put layers of make-up on them and even take them to have fake tans!
We dont know who killed Jonbennet Ramsey (American child who entered these pageants) but you can bet that it was through these pageants that she came to the attention of some paedo somewhere. Is a child's safety and dignity not more important that "being the prettiest or cutest"?

This girl and her mother were on a TV show the other night called "Teen body obsession: too much too young" and by the looks of things this mother will stop at nothing for publicity ,be it good or bad. The attitude of the mother stunk, shes not letting her daughter have a childhood. Some of the comments made by both the mother and her daughter made me feel sad for them and it sickens me that she wont stop entering her in these pageants when she knows paedophiles are discussing her.

This childs mother is probably living out her own
fantasy through her daughter. A dangerous one.
My daughter lives in the states, and was asked if she would like to put my four year old
grandaughter into the pageants.My daughter
asked why they thought she should do that.
Well she loves to dress up and have lots of fun
and she is so pretty. She plays at dress up,my
daughter said, and thats for pleasure. Your
way would bring on lots of pressure, she is going to grow up as a normal little girl.
Thank God for my sensible daughter.

I think the mother is a disgrace, her daughter is growing up to fast all with her mothers help. Her mother is also teaching her that you have to be "beautiful" to succeed/make friends etc which I find shocking. The little girl will go into her teens with so many insecurities that she will need professional help before she reaches her 20s.
I have just read the link and feel sick that any mother would say "There are always sickos out there and its a risk you take when you have a beautiful daughter in the media. It`ll blow over in a few weeks". What planet is this woman on.

Personally i dont agree with beauty pageants of this nature. Modelling, advetising etc is fine.
However i do not think that the peodophile scum should prevent any child from doing anything they want to.
IF i knew of a child abusing c*nt i would personally destroy them.

I did 3 pageants when I was little. They were no make-up, no nail polish, no dresses above the knee. I absolutely loved them. I made lots of friends and it got me out of my shell.
If I had a little girl who wanted to participate in pageants I would let her do it as long as the pageants weren't sexualized. There are paedophiles everywhere and it would be a disservice to my child if I didn't allow her to do things she wanted to do for fear of paedophiles. Keeping a child hidden away from the world isn't the answer. However I wouldn't allow her to participate in any competition which encourages little girls to parade around in swimsuits, wear make-up, get highlights, wear dresses that would not look out of place on a streetwalker, or wear high heels.
I asked my mom about your question. She said if she had found out paedophiles were disscussing me because of my participation in the pageants (even though they weren't sexualized) she would have not allowed me to continue.

We cannot control paedophiles and it makes me sick to think that we should have to curb our children's activities, just in case.
I don't agree with beauty pageants at all, but surely it should be a matter for the family.
I have long been anti the idea that people may not take photos of their own children because of some people's fears of paedophiles. Surely the last place you would find a paedophile would be at the school play?
I speak as a mother whose children were, at one stage, the interest of a paedophile (a neighbour). There is no way one sick man would be given the power to stop my children having a life.

As sad as it sounds, it is not our problem, to say anything to this ltitle girls mother would possible not go down very well, her mother believes she is doing what is best. We might not agree and I too think its wrong, but it is also wrong that you have to protect children, danger will be there for a little time yet. My question is why google have not made it compulsory for the porn and other bad sites on the internet to be stopped, they must have the technology to stop it all, I know it a big business, which is awful and a lot of money is made, but that's not the point when yougn children are in danger. Without the itnernet for that pacicular thing, children might be better safeguarded.

i think of they went to far. i replace into in a toddler opposition, even though it replace into in simple terms me. No makeup, faux teeth, or something loopy. in simple terms me and a typical toddler gown lol i think of pageants may be ok if it replace into in simple terms the ladies themselves. Ya specific do there hair up, or a lovable (no longer slutty gown). yet how are you able to truly "decide" them if ninety 9% of ways they looks is faux crap that their moms and dads compelled them to positioned on? yet no makeup, hair extensions, wigs!! i replace into staring at a coach approximately pageants and whilst a mom actually pulled out faux teeth so as that her daughters teeth might look completely strait at age 5, I had to alter the channel.

I read the story in another paper. I noticed in one photo, mother and daughter gave half smiles- could there be a problem with their teeth, methinks?. The mother used to be a model herself, but I think she shouldn't be encouraging her daughter to do so at such a young age!
