I have this friend, we're competing for an essay. And after that contest, we talked about it. I always ask them about what did they write. I'm just excited, to know what their answers are b/c I'm just ensuring that nobody has a resemblance to my essay. And he told me that why am I asking, maybe I'm really desperate and really wanna win. He's not that guy who becomes jealous...he's just funny. How can I convince him that I am not desperate....I just wanna make sure that nobody has the same essay and I just wanna make sure that I have a good essay.

Just tell him that.
Tell him that it hurt your feelings for him to act like you're 'desperate' when all you were doing was talking about the essays because you're excited, and wanted to see if anyone wrote anything similar to what you wrote.

Even though someone else may have the same content as you, it's the way you present your data that matters, and no two persons could think exactly alike on this aspect, so yea, quit asking everyone about their stuff. It indeed makes you sound desperate.

he's probably spent a long time on his and doesn't want to give anything away. Don't forget he wants a good essay too! You don't sound desperate to me, but just respect his wishes x

Tell him top purchase a dictionary. You are not desperate just because you are concerned about how you did. You are conscientious about your work..

tell them you just want to compare notes, your not desperate, your too self concience that your not good enough..past grades should tell you about your preformance.
