You have to question me on if I would take a 6 figure salary. RU4Real ??????
No Question! Why, you looking for someone to fill the position, because I got credentials. Actually I don`t but I will make some. Who works for moral reasons? People work to make money, the more money the better the job is. As long as it`s legal the morality issues concerning if the occupation is hurtful to the environment and/or people - is the responsibility of the Government. Not the employees.

I would have no problem at all promoting alcohol, I myself love a nice glass of wine at christmas (which seems to be the only time I am not pregnant) and feel that alcohol is not harmful in and of itself it is the people who wish to harm themselves by abusing it who do. After all if they dont use alcohol they could just down some good ol' mouthwash so I would not have a hurt conscience and would have a grand time buying a dodge thingy(you know the one that is all 8 cylinders and whatever) oh charger right my husband wants one and I would enjoy being the one to get it so he has to ask me... (I dont like driving so I wouldnt drive it though I guess in 20 years on no driving cept for checkups it would be in mint condition and not worth a fortune) and yes you are evil as you make 20 bucks an hour and are a non-starving musician who sings stuff that makes my head spin what with the thumping and banging and stuff.

Well, I think so many of the things you mentioned are semantics. It depends on where you are in life with your morals and values. I know many people on the East coast have different values then say those in the Midwest. I personally am opposed to the alcohol and tobacco but firearms? I have been raised in small town Texas so guns are a part of life. We grew up with shotguns and rifles in the house. We used them for hunting and even had fun as a family with target practice. It was great fun growing up hunting rabbit or deer. I always felt safe. When I was 28 and single there was a serial rapist running through our small town. My dad gave me a 12 Gage shotgun to keep in the bedroom since it did not require a steady aim. Point in general direction and it will take out anything in the vicinity. However, firearms such as machine guns or things only the police or military should have? Only if I sold them legally. To sell to underworld; gangs; yes that would be wrong.
Now as for Oil; well again, I was raised in Texas. There were oil wells all around me. As a child I went to sleep at night hearing the heartbeat of oil wells. So to me it is industry and 80 percent of the families in my community were employed by refineries. Kids were clothed and fed and sent to college by the oil industry. If I could sink a well in my back yard tomorrow I'd do it. (See note at end) I have to say the same for lumber. There used to be a paper mill across the river from us. Lumber trucks rattled down the road all the time.
Mainly, I am not a freak about the environment. I truly believe we should do what is withing our power to keep our earth clean and healthy. I don't think we should toss out trash all over or destroy it needlessly. HOWEVER, I also don't think we need to become the environmental freaks so many people insist we become. The main reason is that I am a christian and believe we need to be good stewards of what God has given us. And He has given us the earth and it's resources for his pleasure and our livelihoods. I believe we need to care for it but I also believe the Earth will not be destroyed until HE is good and ready to destroy it. Regardless of what foolish men do. Be wise, be good stewards; do what is considerate toward others; be kind; and love one another. The earth is not going to dissolve into nothing until God is good and ready.

My logic tells me that even if I don't accept the job, the business would not come to a stop and someone else would enjoy the 6 fig salary.
My conscience, however, would want me to dissociate myself with such activity, so what if others have no such conscience.
I would listen to conscience in this case and reject the logic as being opportunistic. I know I can't live with my wounded conscience.
