It's a black and white bug/insect...I know, it's a black and white copy. Well, My camera on my phone was a little too fuzzy. So I picked 'em up and plopped him on the copy machine, scanned the photos, and there we have it. He's about 2 1/4 inches long, 1/2 inch wide, and one of his antennae is 1 1/4 inches long. He really is black and white....Notice the little horns on his neck, if you can...very tiny. Antennae look like ants legs. He has a split shell, I'm assuming has wings because of it. I'm very curious about this one.

well, thanks to daleksnakes link I identified it as the Cottonwood Borer. It's the closest anyways, did a little more looking on the web, and that seems to be it. Almost the asian longhorned bettle.....don't know what the hell it's doing in nebraska though.

Looks like its in the same family as the crickets by the look of the abdomen, but edit your question as to your location when you have time, as that really is important.

IF you honestly think this may be the Asian Longhorned Beetle, please VERIFY it and report it. That is an infestation that is plauging various areas of the US and needs to be stopped. http://www.uvm.edu/albeetle/infestation/index.html
