This all comes from the following website. Personally, I'd wait, but then again, I'm paranoid. :-) Hope this helps! Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is the active ingredient in sunless tanning lotions, creams and foams and could cause harm to an unborn fetus if it penetrates the skin. According to the Organization of Teratology Information Specialists (OTIS), 0.5 percent of DHA is absorbed into the bloodstream when self-tanners are applied to the skin. Once in the bloodstream, the chemical could potentially cross the placenta and enter into the baby's circulation. Bottom Line Self-tanning lotions are considered the safest option for women wanting a sun-kissed glow while pregnant. Although it has not been confirmed that DHA that is absorbed into the skin crosses the placenta, pregnant women should not use self-tanning lotions until after the first trimester as a precaution . Also, since pregnancy can cause changes in skin sensitivity, a test patch should first be performed in an inconspicuous area.

Yes!
I used the Dove body lotion one and I've been absolutely fine. I used the body lotion one which builds a tan slowly though as during pregnancy skin sensitivity can heighten and even using a product you've used previously with no effects can bring you up in a rash!
A friend of mine uses Fake Bake, but couldn't use it while she was pregnant because it brought her up in a rash. Once the baby was born though, her skin settled back down again and now she's back using it.

Hiya - I've been using the moisturising tans that you put on every other day after a shower, like Dove + Johnstons Holiday tan - and I've had no streaking. The least smelly one I've come across is the garnier one, which is apricot scented and doesn't give me that shortbready smell after a couple of hours.
I'm 27 weeks preggers and have had no trouble with this.
I'm not keen on the stronger fake tan as it goes streaky on me and smells bad after an hour.

Definately, work away. There is no chance whatsoever that it goes into your blood stream so won't harm the baby at all. I actually go for spray tans once a fortnight. Its a great way to keep feeling bright x

i remember reading something about alex curran and she said she was using fake bake as it was the only safe self tan to use whilst pregnant. your skin can be unpredictable when your pregnant and the pigment changes so you could get a patchy result. thats why they say not to colour your hair either as your hair changes and colours don't always take properly. doubt it will harm your baby but no ones ever tested them or done a proper study to make sure.

Totally. It can't get into your bloodstream - if it could, it would be called a drug and not available over the counter. Get slapping it on girl - much better than sunbathing and skin cancer!

yes it is....I used it with both pregnancies...all different brands too. But try to get something with a shea or cocoa butter in it so you can prevent stretch marks at the same time.
