my best friends little girl is like 1 now and whenever i go over to his house, she just runs over to me and she wont leave me alone, lol, i dont know what it is about me, but i either have to be holding her, reading to her, or she will go around the house and find random objects to bring to me. I am fine with all that, she is a cutie, but the problem is that she calls me daddy. and i am clearly not, they all laugh about it but i dont want to cause problems, why would she think i am daddy? Is there something i should start doing or stop doing?

Don't worry about the child calling you daddy, you're just a strong male influence in her life right now and there's nothing wrong with that.
She wants your attention and getting you to read to her or her bringing you stuff is her way of asking for your attention.
Enjoy it while you can, the day will come when she will no longer hang on you like you're the greatest thing on earth and you'll miss it.

I've seen this a lot with my friends. Sometimes little kids decide that all men are called "daddy". You are probably not the only person that she has called daddy. It's just a phase. It shouldn't cause any problems.

If you like the attention of their kid, keep doing what you're doing. If it's a bit much and you'd rather not be the focus of her attention, watch what the other adults do. You can be kind, but you can also be distracted by talking with the other adults in the room and not giving the little girl too much attention. The first time you come over (after deciding that you want to change the direction of this relationship), tell your friend that you're just getting over a cold and you don't want to give it to their kid. That will encourage your friends to distance her from you and she won't be allowed to sit on your lap, etc. She'll get bored and go do something else.

I suspect, at 1 year old, every male who holds her, reads to her, and dotes on her is "daddy".

Maybe she just thinks, yay new person!!!! And comes to you because she knows she'll get attention.
