I was at my friends helping her unpack, when her mum told her she should put the bed under the window. My friend said she wanted it to go on the other side so she didn't have to hear traffic (fair point), then they got into a big argument about how her bed in the old house was near a window and she never complained etc etc. The argument carried on for about 10 - 15 minutes with me feeling very uncomfortable (i couldn't leave as they were in the way so instead I carried on unpacking). In the end her mum stormed out telling my friend she was so stubborn and had no clue. A few days later I went round my friends and her bed was in a completely different place.

No, we didn't argue about the wall, too small of a place to put it anywhere else than it is right now, but we did argue on which side of bed we will sleep. I picked the right side as it is closer to the main door & to the toilet if I needed to go in the night etc., does it make me a man? He he.

It is best put against the left side of the wall. The man needs to sleep on the right hand side of the bed, all the better to be
able to get at the "goodies"! assuming he is right handed of course! That's the logic of it!

Yes I have had this very dispute.. I lost, my wife got her way..
Now we sleep with our heads to the wall that adjoins our noisy neighbours staircase, genius decision!

My bed isn't next to a wall.
It's in the center with the two nightstands on either sides

Not really, sense tells you it should go against any wall that doesn't connect to your neighbours in order to avoid embarrassing silences when you see them!

i did when i moved in here, then i realized my bed was too huge to fit anywhere but this one corner, so the problem fixed itself.
