Back to the Family Ranch for the Season -- as an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ... I am now going back to HELP with the work on the farm (I did help out before, but not as extensively because I HAD To stay employed so that I could provide for my disabled children as a Long Term Single Parent) ... and then go back to my home (which I am happy to say I OWN due to my Hard Work and Earnings) for the wintertime.
I am FINALLY Able to enjoy a bit of what I earned -- because I am an Empty-Nester. I go back and work because if I go someplace and someone is willing to let me stay there (Even family) -- I feel it is only RIGHT That I have to contribute to the household -- and this means doing chores, etc. BUT ... between the chores, I can choose what I want to do -- and have once again found that I enjoy photography -- but now it is a DIGITAL SLR in my hands instead of a 35mm SLR camera!
So as far as enjoying taking images -- it is the quirky, the out-of-the-way, the everyday farm life and rural side of my country, the things that catch my eye that inspire my creativity ... (plus I enjoy working with the horses -- they appreciate their caregivers, and do NOT go out and be deliberately toxic like some humans do).

We are staying at home having spent all our holiday money on woodworm treatment and a new bathroom!!!! Don't mind too much as having moved to a house with a long garden the children are just as happy (well they will be if it ever stops raining) running around outside, and there are always day trips and visits to the woods or friends!!! A bit of sun would be nice though!!

We've just been to Cornwall for a week, missed all the floods, had good weather and come back sun tanned. Why travel abroad adding to your carbon footprint when we have a fantastic set of islands in the uk? Check out the Coast series if you're in doubt.
