Ask him what he wishes to be called.
Italians and Scicilians are Caucasian. So are Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, French and semitic people(Arabs,Jews) , Turks, Armenians, Persians, Afghans, Pakistanis and Indians and others I've forgotten to mention. Their skin colors range from pale to olive to dark.
So, from the very lightskinned and lighteyed(Scandanavians,Finns) right on down through the northern, middle and eastern europeans and to the mediterranean peoples(your BF for instance) and futher east....all are categorized as Caucasians.
Hope this helps a little. :-)

My dad's parents both immigrated to the States from Sicily, and he never had a problem being called a caucasian.
To what race does your boyfriend believe he belongs?
Personally, when I fill out a form, I check "other" just to let 'em wonder. And I should get minority status - how many Sicilian-Dane-Scots are there?
And if you thumbs-down me, I'll track you down and have you charged with a hate crime. lol

your boyfriend's weird.
People from the Mediterranean are considered part of the Caucasian race.
Caucasian is not limited to blonde and blue-eyed.
