Here's a really good website about it and it gives instructions-- http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/cm.html

Start taking it 5 days before you expect ovulation two teaspoons (200 mg) taken orally three times per day. If mucus still appears thick and doesn't have good spinnbarkeit (ability to stretch), one can take as much as four teaspoons (400 mg) four times per day

Sometimes your doctor will prescribe other medications to help thin the mucous when the mucous is particularly thick or viscous. This therapy is fairly controversial. Some women try to do this themselves with over-the-counter decongestant medications like Robitussin. Some physicians find this practice to be essentially harmless while others prefer their patients not add these medications to their treatment.

Whether or not this works is of mixed opinion in the medical community.

If you choose to try it, you would start on Day 05 of your cycle and keep going up until the day you anticipate ovulation.

Good luck.
