Perhaps because Christianity hijacked lots of Pagan holidays and turned them into Christian ones.

Easter did no longer start up as a "pagan trip". It replace into an adoption of the suggestions of Passover into the hot Jewish sect of Christians--the trip is spoke of as "Pascha" or some version in maximum languages, "Easter" is an aberration, presented extremely late. That being suggested, this surpassed off over an incredibly super area, and a brilliant form of interior reach customs have been observed by skill of person Christians that weren't observed by skill of Christianity. The Easter Bunny is a style of, little question on the topic remember of a Germanic determine of fertility. Eggs, on the different hand, are as possibly to have come from Jewish Passover customs as the different source. that's a brilliant clutter whilst it is composed of individuals customs, and that's what the Easter Bunny is, a individuals custom. although, that's the very top of errors to presume that the the Easter Bunny is ordinary throughout the time of all of Christianity. The determine is comparatively unknown between classic Greek, Russian, and so on. Christians--presented purely in recent an prolonged time from the West.

Well, here is the truth---feel free to look it up if you wish.
Eostre is the name of a Pagan Springtime fertility Goddess. Pretty close to the word "Easter", no? Rabbits and eggs...well what do you associate with those things? They stand for sex and fertility. Growing things. the earth coming back to life after winter.
Christmas is another pagan holiday made to look Christian. It was called Yule. (Like as in "yuletide greetings"). It's tradtions included yule logs on the fire, decorated trees, drinking, merriment, and a general happiness that midwinter meant that winter was halfway over. Most Biblical scholars believe Jesus was born sometime in October, I think. Look it all up---I may be mistake on the month.
Anyway, when Christianity began to take over as the dominant religion, they had a problem with all the Pagans continuing to celebrate their ancient traditions. So they gave the Pagan holidays Christian names and Christian ideas. Then, they demonized the Pagan religion, and pretty much started going after all the Pagans who continued to practice their beliefs in their own way.
Don't believe me? Look it up yourself.
And now you know why we have eggs and bunnies. :)

Bunnies and eggs represent the pagan god of fertility. The Catholics chose to adapt these images with Easter to lure the pagans into accepting Christian ideas hoping that familiar images will make them more comfortable. The same thing goes for the Christmas tree (which represents the pagan earth spirits).
Personally, I don't need the Catholics or the pagan's help with any of it.
