It seems that with each and every election that South Africa sees, the ANC government garners more support and greater majorities. This cannot be based on performance and service delivery when one considers their dismal track record and gross misgovernance, we have seen abundant scandals, blatant corruption with no consequences for the offenders, rapes by government officials as well as sexual misconduct, nepotism, poor to a complete lack of service delivery, ANC fat cats enriching themselves only at the expense of the taxpayer, crime levels escalating to that of war torn nations, roads and infrastructure are crumbling and the average South African family is now amongst the most indebted in the world.
Why do our citizens continue to follow these disastrous voting patterns?
Is it allegiances to the lies, propaganda and deceit that they have been fed by an ANC government who are excellent talkers but pathetic implementers or merely the result of uneducated masses voting?

I think (actually, I know) that people (especially black people who live in settlements) get threatened to get them voting. Even in the great name change issue that's raging here in Potch, the people are told to "Go to the pro-change rally, we know where you live." There's nothing we can do about it. Would you subject your children to possible abuse, rape and/or death just to vote for another political party? I wouldn't. The truth of the matter is that the majority of the good South Africans don't really have a choice in the matter. We all know that all these changes cost a lot of money that could have been put to much better use, but with the majority put out of fair play, that won't happen. Simple, but corrupt...

The end game started long ago and became Public when Mbeki tried to shaft Zuma. Now you are reading of all kinds of protests with road blocks, flaming tyres and stoning against what the ANC and its controlled Media euphemistically call "poor service delivery." Translated out of the spin and political correctness this means people are no longer prepared to wait for all the free houses, cars and riches promised to them by Mandela and the ANC. Mbeki is on the road to nowhere and he will be gone by the end of the year to be replaced by Zuma and a further political shift to the left towards the more draconian form of Communism. This means further robbery of Whites and further discrimination until they are either gone or are totally impoverished.
There can be no change as Communism is total control and any sign of the ANC losing its control will result in a backlash not too disimilar to what you have read of in the entire Continent of Africa.Democracy is a foreign and not understood concept in Africa so forget about voting for someone else.If they did look like winning any election the ANC would merely rig the Ballot box. Africans have a long history of destruction and a nil history of construction so it will be no different in South Africa. Another Nation duped by the Communists and Tribalism where the illiterate are lead by the nose by the corrupt and greedy.

Yes they will in time! I am a South African and I will continue to vote for the ANC until an alternative party that stands for my beliefs and values come along. Currently there is no alternative. Let us not label anything that is driven or run by Africans as drivel. If I remember correctly there was not much of a difference when the Apartheid government was in power.
Only white people benefited from it at least in this current government people are given equal opportunities regardless of race or gender. Do you know that during apartheid if you were a woman and black you were treated as third class citizen? That is not the case any more. Let us give credit where it’s due. And give constructive criticism where necessary.
I am not in anyway condoning the things that some of the ANC leaders do. In fact some of the things they do are appalling. I am anti-corruption, nepotism, regardless who is behind it be it a white or black person. Since new era of democracy came, my life changed and is better than that of my parents who only worked as slaves.

You have so many complaints but zero solutions.
Don't get me wrong your complaints are valid but then
who must we vote for then.
The DA is out of the question I don't feel its a party that can represent black people.
The DA is more concerned about BEE, AA , Name changes and Crime.
I never hear them saying anything about job creation, education, poverty alleviation, water, elecricity and avordable housing.
I will keep voting ANC until because the ANC looks at the whole picture.
Yes the are some people who are only concerned about their pocket and we have to choose our leaders carefully.

The ANC is black. The (mostly uneducated) voters are black. Everything else is inconsequential.
The answer from 'Jeez' is proof of this. Her parents were never 'slaves', by the way.

Guess it is the same than in the USA. Telling you what is wrong, making you scared of it, who to blame for it - but incompetent to fix it.

Except to state that I don't agree with you I am not in the mood to discuss politics this week. I opt out on this one. I hope that I will be ready to go to the battlefield next week. In the meantime, have fun!!!!
