From memory the festival site is at ground level and near the Thames river, it starts around the 24th of August. What will happen waether wise do you think? Will it have dried up by then or will I need an inflatable boat and waders?

I think most festivals are held at ground level, even in the mountains.

Seriously, if you are from the UK you will know the British weather is reliably unreliable, so I'm sure you will have waterproof gear. We're all hoping for a sunny August.

If it continues really wet they may have to shift to higher ground.

It's true the Festival is held next to the river on the flood plain, but now the Thames in Reading is at its peak and there hasn't been significant flooding here in Reading. So you'll probably be ok. Expect lots and lots of mud. But you can't have a music festival without mud. It's all part of the fun.
