You do need a phone line for DSL, only options are cable or satellite internet, but its usually slow, not loading but getting to pages. And if it rain you might lose signal. Ask your neighbor to get wireless internet and offer to pay for it. so you drop your line and dont have to pay phone bill. You can move in my block, I have open network and Extended antenna that covers my whole block lol.

You need a working phone line to get DSL. But (at least around here) a landline can be as cheap as $15 per month. Just cancel any type of long-distance plan you have and get the most basic one. Good luck!

if u wanna get rid of ur home line, u'll have to get rid of ur dsl service, dsl works with the phone line, just do what i do, get a high speed internet with a cable provider such as comcast , i dont have a home line cuz i have comcast high speed cable,
ps: u dont need cable (tv) to get the internet, just go to comcast . com and find out
