No he just wrote poetry. All the predictions are from when something major happens they look into Nostradamus writings and try to find something that applies to the event and then claim it as a prophecy

Skeptics such as James Randi suggest, however, that his reputation as a prophet is largely manufactured by modern-day supporters who fit his words to events that have either already occurred or are so imminent as to be inevitable, a process sometimes known as "retroactive clairvoyance." There is no evidence in the academic literature (see Sources) to suggest that any Nostradamus quatrain has ever been interpreted as predicting a specific event before it occurred, other than in vague, general terms that could equally apply to any number of other events.

You can find truth in anything if you wanna believe it enough. The guy made vivid references and some of these can be linked to events that have happened but they've not really "predicted" anything accuratley.
Anyways we should be all dead by know if the dude had any crediblility.

His predictions are vague and could be associated with many events, but only after the event has occurred, never before. So there isn't much practical value to them.

It just happens that people can twist his prophecies to fit whatever's happening at the time.

No.
Take an old fashioned ink pen and piece of blank white paper,
Shake the pen so that ink sprays out over the paper.
Now stare at the paper and let your imagination run free.
You will see lots of thing that aren't really there.
Nostrodamus did the same thing with words, we can make his gibberish writings fit with any circumstance we imagine them to.

Nah, I don't believe a word. I remember when 911 happened & people were trying to say he predicted that. It's a lot of nonsense if you ask me. Interested to hear what others think about it though.

The man was amazingly accurate about world events. He was a true prophet. Ignore all the naysayers. Do your own investigation. These people are not well read.

Nope - all the modern translations by authors speak with authority - but when you look at what he actually wrote.... you could make up loads of meanings.
Update: Looking at the other answers so far, it's refreshing to be in the company of so many posters who have logical non-mystic minds.
