Do any of the Yahoo Uk or Ireland Community reside on houseboats (not boat-houses, there is a big difference here)
and if yes, what types do you live on and how do you like living on the water? The big advantage in living on a houseboat is that you never have to worry about flooding!
Are there any houseboat communities there and if so, where?
Any links you can provide me with will be appreciated.

Thank you

You obviously haven't seen any pictures of the recent flooding where people on houseboats have had to abandon them when the rising flood waters have lifted the craft from the river and into nearby fields, and even mooring ropes have been snapped because of the height the boats have been lifted on the rising water. And what happens during the winter - especially on canals - when the water freezes and the boat is "locked in" in the ice. Did you mention "Luxury" ! ! !

I really shouldn't answer this because I don't live there. Do you live there or in an adjacent area? Don't ask anybody here if you know because fact is, here in the USA, Houseboats are okay as long as you in inhabit them quite frequently because if you don't and end up coming for a visit for the summer, they will most likely be full of scorpions, (which so gross me out), rattlesnakes and all kinds of cute, pretty, black (I don't know why they call them widows...LMAO!), and really hairy, brown spiders that are known to like to be alone..(obviously the widow does...lol!!!!!!),.I think recluse comes to mind...lol...and they can get pretty mean and ugly...LOL!!!!!!!.... amputation of limbs, etc...nothing really serious...LOL... :) p.s. not to mention the homeless people or Versace's boyfriend Andrew...lol...not that I am making fun of homeless peo.....Oh, just kick me in my smart *** and get it over with...lol!!!!!!! LOL! Thanks for the giggle! :)

You are obviously not very clued up on water matters. Floods raise the level and destroy the moorings and wash the craft away.
