You need a DVD for a size that big.

CD's only hold around 720 or less if I remember right.

Are you sure the ISO you have is not supposed to be burned to a DVD? I don't think there are any widely available Cd's that can hold over 800MB of data.

There are a couple of different solutions to your problem. One is to download another boot CD to burn. If you are Linux-savvy knoppix is great (http://knoppix.org) Since it seems you probably don't have a DVD-burner, make sure to get the CD version not the DVD version if that's the route you go.

I hear good things about both the Emergency Boot CD, and the Ultimate Boot CD. I personally haven't worked with them to much b/c Knoppix has been able to take care of most of what I have needed to do, but they might be worth a download, especially if you are a Linux or command-line phobe.

If you are determined to shrink the ISO down to an acceptable size...

The quickest and easiest way is probably to shell out 29.99$ for MagicISO, or to find some free alternative to that software, or to obtain a full version illegally through various less-than-ethical but widely-accepted and easily-discovered-via-google methods. Using that software you can delete stuff from the ISO and shrink it down.

If you are a hardcore do it your-selfer, you can mount the iso up in looback mode in Linux (moount -t iso9660 -o loop /path/to/iso /mnt/point), or use Virtual Daemon to mount it in Windows, extract the files, delete some, and then recreate a new ISO with mkisofs or equivalent. This will involve making it a bootable cd like the original, which I am not completely sure how to do off the top of my head. man and google are your friends here.

Good luck.

You can make bootable DVD with it instead of CD. You can also do what s called file splitting. Depending on the program you are using to burn it. You might have something like "make 700mb bootable cd" in which case it will create one cd at that size and a second cd with the rest of the image. Thats why back in the days you would buy a computer with xp and get like 5 or 6 cds, or just one dvd. Hope this helps. good luck

You need a DVD. CDs are usually limited to 650 MB or 700 MB for standard ones. The compact wallet-sized CDs hold even less. Good night!
