Gee, thanks. I come from SA, where you have to do that to stay alive, and as a female you are vulnerable to rape by the people who break in too - they may also kill or maim you just for fun. You can see why I left.
Now I live in one of the safest countries in the world, and have problems realising how safe I am, my b/f is away and I have problems sleeping and do just what you say -have not slept more than three hours in as many days. Thanks for reminding me. ;)

Nah, not necessary. Tytin, my Pit Bull, would stand watch. If he doesn't stop someone from entering ... my two American Eskimo/Pom puppies will rip their leg off in seconds flat. Ok, ok ... maybe just a pinky toe ... but the intruder would get the message! :)
